We are really, really struggling with song choices! We are having a humanist ceremony so only need 2 songs and we are stuck! I know what my entry song will be but we are trying to find a song for the exit.

We really want an upbeat song and have thrown around the likes of I'm a Believer by the Monkees, My First, My Last, My Everything by Barry White, Burning Love by Elvis but we just can't nail a tune!

I love everything but my focus is 50s and 60s and he's a real charts man.

We also need something for our first dance but again, the typical 'love songs' really aren't us!

    Any ideas......

    .......PLEASE!!!!!!

We walked out to "All You Need is Love" by The Beatles.

First dance was "God Only Knows" by The Beach Boys.

We walked out to the same.

Entrance to the reception was Shipping up to Boston by The Dropkick Murphy's.

    Went down a treat.

First dance was Into my Arms by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

We had Fallin In Love the Jack L version for walking back up the aisle, we cut it so the funky part was played first.

Some Hale and Oats thanks to someone on boards haha for first dance..

Our recessional song was "You're my Best Friend" by Queen, and our first dance song was "Better Together" by Jack Johnson. I'd say either of those could work?

Have to agree with all the posters above; I'm a piano player and I've played One Day Like This (Elbow) and All You Need is Love as recessionals and both go down really well with the entire audience - Greatest Day (Take That) works great too but mightn't fit the 50's/60's idea and isn't really chart material either...Top of the World by the Carpenters works surprisingly well as well : )

Walked in to Apocalyptica's cello cover version of Nothing Else Matters, walked out to Blur's The Universal. First dance song was Kentish Town Waltz by Imelda May.

You're having a humanist ceremony - there is no set agenda for them & at 360+ a go I'd expect to be allowed integrate as many pieces of music as you need! Go through your CD's together with a bittle of wine & you might rediscover something that clicks!! The service dosn't have to be only 10 minutes long!!
