Audi A6 - Prestone Coolant?

    Morning all,

So yesterday morning (why do these things always happen on Sundays when everywhere is closed and I'm out of town?) I started up the car - 05 A6 with a 3.0 TDI - and got a big red coolant and then oil pressure warning.

Checked both and the coolant is low alright (oil level seems fine) so I found a car shop and picked up a bottle of this Prestone Coolant/Antifreeze (all they had) which supposedly works with all cars, but before I go topping up with it I wanted to see if anyone has any experience of it?

Haven't had any warnings/errors since so maybe a random one but the level is still low so I DO want to put something in there.

If not this stuff then what should I be looking for? (bearing in mind that we're probably talking the likes of Halfords here)

    Cheers!

Is your question "can I mix this with the unknown coolant I already have in the car?" ;)

When was coolant last changed? Do you still have receipt with whatever they used at the time?

To answer your question - no, don't mix. Get the right stuff from a dealer.
You _probably_ have g12 or g13 in there already and it doesn't work well with prestone.
