Can someone please help!!! I have a 2006 Volvo s40 1.8 petrol. The engine blew and bottom end was ruined. I managed to get a replacement second hand engine from a Dismantlers for €350 and was assured engine was perfect before being removed from previous car. I had it fitted to my car but it wouldn't start?? I gave it a tow and for some reason the engine blew up (AGAIN!!) I then managed to get another engine from a 2003 Mazda 6 which has the exact same block. Just needed to change the oil sump and rocker cover over. This time it was just about starting but again to no avail. We decided to tow it and BANG the engine blew again. PLEASE IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME??????

    Get a different car.

    Or rebuild the engine.

I'd get a different car though.

What does your mechanic say? Are you getting a professional to install it?

If three different engines have blown in the same car it might be something else.
At this point I'd just get another car, even if it means making a big loss.
Or get another mechanic to have a look.
