Looking for your best price on the Panasonic TX-55CR730b (55inch) and also the Sony KD55X8509C. Not sure which to get so any advice would be appreciated. The room its going into has a lot of glass and have heard conflicting reports on curved TV's.

Also with your 6 year warranty.... if there is a problem with the TV is it you guys I would call or the manufacturer...?

    Cheers

HI Ratsam, thanks for your post.

With regards to the warranty, the first year is with the manufacturer as normal, the remainder of the time is covered by ourselves, though for the full period of the warranty you just need to contact ourselves and we arrange repairers etc as required

On the Tvs, there isn't a huge difference in spec between the 2 models. The Sony has 3d and also twin tuners which the Panasonic doesn't, but other than that, the refresh rate is the same etc.
Of the 2, I would probably say the Panasonic is the better TV picture wise, although not a lot in it to be fair, and also with the new Panasonic firefox OS, the smart function is better than in the Sony.

On the decision between curved or flat, the curved in my opinion doesn't change the picture quality as such, the only difference really would be an improvement in viewing angles in some situations

Have a look at the specs here - http://www.richersounds.ie/prodcompare.aspx?pid1=201342&pid2=201404 - and l;et me knwo if you have any other queries

    Cheers

    @ option,

Please take a moment to read the Charter for this forum - it is posted in a stickey at the top of the forum titled "CHARTER - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING" and points out a number of particular characteristics of the forum including the following:
    • As a general principle, if you're not asking Richersounds for a quote/information/involved in a deal here, it's usually best to proceed with caution. A more judicious approach to interventions and expressing opinions is needed here than would otherwise prevail in a general discussion area, such as the Home Entertainment Forums.
    • If you see a post which is looking for a quote or advice from RS, please resist the urge to offer your opinion ! Such queries are not an open invitation for posters to make suggestions etc, these queries should be left to RS to answer. If queries or requests for quotes attracted everyone's opinion, the forum would be unworkable. This is not intended to prevent the usual chat and banter which you will regularly see on the RS forum.
    [*]

I've snipped your post above as the poster's query here is for Richersounds to answer.
