Anyway I got provisionally approved for btea allowance but I also filled in the jobseeker allowance questionnaire but my social welfare was stopped. It was not in the post office on Tuesday and I handed in the approval letter but previously been told that they case officer will have the final say.I'm in limbo have I been cut off or switched to btea and as it stands I have received no letter to say If I've been cut off or not.I was working up until 2 months ago and is my first time unemployed

Don't think you have been on a qualified payment for long enough to get it .

    Unless OP was made redundant

If you have been awarded statutory redundancy and are entitled to a qualifying social welfare payment immediately before you start the course you can get immediate access to the BTEA without any waiting period. You must take part in the BTEA scheme within one year of getting statutory redundancy and satisfy all the other conditions.
