I have recorded a lot of material on the EIR TV box and I wish to back up the recorded material onto a hard drive or a DVD . Can you please advise how I could do this please?

You can't, there is no function for this as Eir have blocked the use of any ports on the tv box to stop extraction of saved programs, this is around protecting copyright i believe.

A back up function beyond recording to eir vision box is not available.
