They seem very popular across the water and on the continent, whether you're into vintage bike stuff or modern.

Anyone ever heard of any being held in Ireland?

I think the boardsies have one in a carpark somewhere up the country now and again, or maybe they were planning on having one. I'm too far away to have payed much attention to the thread as it wasn't relevant to me, but I hope that someone sees my post and will remind you of it

Ryan_Sherlock pulled together this one 6 months ago and another last year

We've been talking about arranging one in North County Dublin for some time, but that requires a volunteer from the area to pull it all together. We seem to be pretty good at sorting out Boards gear orders in Fingal, but car boot sales seem a bit too much of a challenge .....

    :pac:

Those ones seem to be very Dublin-centric...?

Yes, before anyone says it, I know that's where the densest population is. As in most people, not people that are dense! I didn't really word that too well, did I??!!

Would one work say, in the midlands? So anyone nationwide would have a (relatively) equal distance to travel?

I doubt it. There's not a massive amount of interest in those around Dublin. Move further away and there's going to be less. Can't imagine people travelling long distances just on the off-chance there may be something to interest them. Even our own Cycling adverts sub-forum has quietened down recently with posters commenting there is not as much interest as there used to be in 2nd hand stuff (maybe a sign of the upturn in the economy with more people buying new rather than 2nd hand)

    Yea, very true.

Might work as a spin-off/side attraction to a large bike show that people would be travelling to, along the lines of interbike etc.

Whether we'll ever see anything like that here is anyone's guess!

Given the upsurge in cycling's popularity here, you'd think there would be more interest...
