    Hi there,

I know this is subjective but would like some opinions. So I applied and interviewed for a lecturing position but didn't get it.

I received a call on Friday to say someone was off and they need someone right away until Christmas time. I will be starting on Wednesday!

My question is just, how much can I be expected to receive for this? I have the salary scale for the position so I know how much the girl who got the job was getting. Would my pay per hour be equal to hers? Less? More because of short notice? And how is it likely to be paid, just right before Christmas or is it different to contract workers?

I know I will probably get these answers, I just don't want to get the piss taken out of me and offered a lot less if I'm entitled to receive what the contract workers are. I'm only scheduled to do 8-9 hours of lecturing a week.

If anyone could shed some light I would be grateful!

Ring and ask them what the salary is?
