Car with nct or car with fsh and pre nct inspection

Hi,

I am getting my boyfriend a car for christmas nothing expensive just so he can learn only a couple of hundred..

I have seen a Nissan micra that just passed the test and a vw polo with no nct but has fsh with vw they have owned the car 10 years and have pre inspection nct cert from vw saying it needs back box exhaust.

The polo is in really good condition and only 70 thousand miles and interior has safe guard so if anything spills it won't stain with guarantee.

What would you pick

I would consider the Polo. One owner car?
Get a price for the exhaust and also investigate when the timing belt is due and the cost of that.

On another note, you don't really want him to be a micra driver do you?

No 2 owners they are the second owners but has a fsh from new.. Timing belt was changed last year.. Yeah I do think the polo sounds better I like the fact that it has fsh just I don't want to go to the nct and find out he was lying etc..

😂😂😂 I agree about the micra I just liked the fact it passed the nct and at least I know there isn't that much wrong but the micra has 5 owners and no service history.

A "pre nct report from VW" means nothing, you could bring it up for the NCT and it could fail all sorts including emissions. I would go with the Micra unless I could see the fail sheet from an actual NCT for the Polo.

Thank you yeah that's what I am worried about that I got to the nct and it fails on all sorts of things.

get it checked by a mechanic or as said above nct.

The back box will affect the nct so at least you know.

He said that he hasn't got time to bring to nct and to go to my mechanic and the reason he for the pre nct was so people believe him..
It's only a 01 but it is only to learn how to drive then eventually he will get a different car.

I want something for about 1000 with nct etc or full service history and a low litre for insurance companies I can't seem to find many.

If he won't get NCT done, than walk away. There just might be a reason he's not disclosing. FSH doesn't really mean much. It's the NCT that matters.
