    Hi all,
I had to replace my dish this week after the storm. After the change I have a normal sky setup working fine. I also run a line into my Bravia TV Satellite input to avail of free view using the same remote. I just use sky for sports. However, lots of channel are not showing up after the auto scan. Loads do, but no bbc hd channels, no bbc4 and lots of others.

I did a full restore to default setting o n tv before scan. Getting a strong signal off channels I do get.

    Any ideas?

    S.

If the TV offers the option of a blind scan, use this.

Well you won't get Freeview off a dish new or old as it is a UK terrestrial system received through an aerial.

As for other channels as all you have done is replace the dish it is most likely poor alignment of said dish.

Ok, maybe it's not freeview, but last week I had bbc1 hd, bbc2 hd, they are now gone? Alignment seems fine with all other channels.

If you did a factory reset, it's possible the TV is using an out of date transponder list for tuning purposes, so I'd try a blind scan.

You need to align the dish on three different parameters
    - the vertical plane (moving the dish up/down)
    - the horizontal plane (moving the dish to the left/right)
    - azimuth (twisting the LNB around in the bracket to the optimum position).

If any of the above are even slightly off then you might get some channels fine but be missing others. Check the alignment again.

Azimuth is the horizontal plane. The LNB adjustment is 'skew' or 'polarisation offset'.
