2003 Micra Timing belt/chain?

    The mother just got a 2003 1ltr Micra. It has 55k miles on it.

    Does this car have a belt or chain?

    When should it be changed and what can I expect to be charged if it does?

    Chain. Shouldn't need servicing enless it's giving trouble.

    Thanks. I'm presuming I'll get engine management warning lights if it's giving bother.
