Price is very very high for that year, a 2008 model motor tax is about 300euro, aim for a 2008 for under 10k, i believe they are heavy on fuel...lovely looking cars though

I wouldn't pay that for it. If you bought that car today near that price you probably wouldn't get 8k in a private sale tomorrow ... I don't think there are any issues with that car...

Great car, not too bad on fuel but that one is overpriced. Bought a better spec one, same year, same model 18 months ago with 19,000 less miles on it for less than that.

is this one a 4 or 6 cylinder.

    It's a 4 cylinder.

Price is very high for the year, those petrol cars fitted with efficiency dynamics can go through a fair amount of ignition coil packs along with injector issues.

would they be a big expense to replace?

The coil packs are not expensive but it's the frequency of replacing them that can end up expensive as well as frustrating. Injectors are expensive though, I know BMW were offering goodwill on them but not sure if there is an age/mileage restriction and how many times they will offer it.

Of course you could get lucky and find a car that has no problems. The older 2.5 litre engine would be less troublesome in the long run imo.

Are all 320s four cylinder? If not how can I tell the six cylinders?

If you are willing to consider higher tax rate, then perhaps this?

The €2400 saving could be put towards the tax and insurance differences over a few years.

Lower initial purchase cost anyway. Put the difference into the bank to cover costs for a few years and enjoy happy driving.

As bazz said, the 4 cylinder petrols of that era with efficient dynamics were troublesome. Many would say they were never right even from new only getting very short time between dealer visits for coils packs and even injectors.

Looks in great condition but the wheels look too small for the car.
