carlow car check

    Hi

    I want to have my car given a good look over, just to make sure its ticking over ok, like the oil the tire pressure and engine and such. With two little kids to drive round and winter here I want to be road safe. I really dont have a lot of money none really lol but i wanted to know here i can get the car checked with out costing me major money as its almost xmas.


    Im in carlow town and i have a 04 fiat panda

    halfords are doing free car checks at the moment.

    It's only lights/wipers/bulbs/battery/screen wash (all of which they sell!)

    Any tyre shop I know would have a look at your tyres condition and pressures for free.
    Tyre pressure is basic stuff though and should be checked regularly.

    Advance Pitstop do free 5 point safety check. Just bear in mind that free checkups (no matter who offers it) are mainly a tool to drum up business and therefore may be prone to finding fault unnecessarily.

    If you end up needing work done then you'll need to shop around for the best price. Halfords are expensive for bulbs, fluids, wipers, etc compared to any of the 4 motor factors around town.

    The advance one checks stuff that most people couldn't check themselves, worth doing, but keep in mind that they're vultures.

    Great stuff, could you recommend anyone trustworthy in Carlow?

    yes they quoted me €900 for the head gasket repair but I got the whole lot including new timing belt for 400 in a friend of a friends
