Mudguards on a cantilever cx bike?

    Any way solutions?

    Typically, NONE of the motley selection mudguards I've bought annually for the last five years seem to suit :(:mad::rolleyes:

    I tried SKS Raceblades, and could NOT get them to fit, no matter what way I bent the wires. Tried some other auld yokes I found, but they wouldn't fit either. 35 mm tyres just too big, and canti bosses always in the wrong place. Gave up in the end.

    Oh I should clarify, it's for when my cx is on road duties, so standard road wheels and 25ml tyres.

    Does your CX bike have mudguard eyelets?

    A mate of mine used these to for SKS Chromoplastics to his CX bike, seem to have worked quite well, he's happy anyway.

    I had 55mm SKS Chromoplastics on my cantilever equipped MTB and there was just enough clearance. I had this style of cable.

    I subsequently switched out the cantilevers for v-brakes and there was just about enough clearance for those too. They were full-height v-brakes though, not the mini ones that seem popular for CX bikes. Mind you, I can't remember whether the cable running between the arms sat above or below the mudguard - either should work if you have enough clearance to raise or lower the mudguards, though my preference would be cable above mudguard as it's less fiddly.

    I have similar issue- I have managed to get the rear raceblade attached by using a cable-tie thru the the rear brake eyelet that is set up to allow for traditional road brakes; lots of clearance with the cantilevers. This has been a great relief- 'cross bike can just look wrong with mudguards but with road wheels and a subtle mudguard it is perfect for training/commuting
