Time to unsubscribe from Time magazine i think.
Used to be a really good quality world affairs paper. Now it's full of culture this, fashion that, films this, celeb interviews the other, with just a smattering of "news" which is actually just the Twitter flavour of the week.
    What the **** happened? It's **** now.

    Your thoughts?

Used to read it way back in the 80s. Then kinda realised that there really isn't a whole lot of news about anything in it, current affairs, politics, sports, business.

It was never much good. Kind of thing you'd flick through while waiting to see the doctor.

    Wasn't it bought out recently?

They'd rather discuss Kanye West these days. What a fall for a once great publication

I never liked the paper it was printed on

    Bought out by Warner.

There were always a few pages devoted to celebs and emtertainment, haven't noticed much of a change lately. They do seem to have a very "American" tint on a lot of their articles. I know it's an american magazine, but it has a very international audience and it sometimes seems to forgot that.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Old school media kind of died in the recent years.
    Time was just another victim.

How do you sell print at the same rate/reward when by the time its in the press its already been tweeted/on reddit for hours and is now a meme with its own lolcat.

The Economist used to be better, nowadays they never post an article that doesn't end by concluding that deregulating businesses is the way to go.

Ever since they started naming iPhones and other trinkets as person of the year I stopped taking any notice of them

Dr Hibbert: Hmm.I never heard of a baby swallowing a magazine before-And I'm a doctor.

Marge: I don't know if it matters, but it was a Time magazine.- Does that matter?

Dr Hibbert: Uh-oh.- This could be dangerous.

    Marge: What? What?

Dr Hibbert: Syrian hard-liners are gaining influence.

    Fair play to them.

Ever since they put Enda on it....

That happened. And we let it happen.

Used to get it by post for a good few tears. Then changed to Newsweek. Both I now regard as fairly week. Just recently I started a subscription to The Week ....... after buying it occasionally over the years.
Lots of stories that don't drone on ad nauseum :)

My dad used to have a subscription, then cancelled it but recently started it again. It went downhill around the time they created separate American and European editions if you ask me. Which must have been the late 90s?

Anyway, there are definitely better publications out there like The Atlantic, The New York Times, Washington Post etc.

Does anyone care about being on the front cover of Time anymore?
