When will meter be installed

    We received a notice in July that a meter would be installed in the next 3 days.

    There wasn't any contactor on the estate that week, but they did show up the following week and worked on the estate for a week or so and then left.

    There weren't any objectors in the estate.  They did about 1/4 of the estate.

    We weren't notified of the delay of the week and we haven't had any communication on why the meters weren't installed and nothing further on when they might be installed.

    Why would the contractors have left an estate about 1/4 finished?  And when are they likely to finish the job?  And is it pooible that Irish Water might communicate what is happening?

    Hi Spur,

    Thanks for your query.

    If you haven't had your meter installed in an already metered area, this may be due a number of reasons e.g. the stopcock could not be located on the property, your property is on a shared connection, there is something obstructing the installation site, lack of material etc.

    You may still be scheduled to have your meter installed and once this is scheduled, you will receive notice two week's prior to installation.

    If you would like us to look into this further for you, we would ask that you provide certain details through private message.
    They are as follows:

    - Name;
    - Address; and
    - Contact number.

    Kind regards,
    Mairead
