    :(
    Sigh
Not long back from test centre. Expected my Peugeot 407 coupe (2006) to sail through as I take good care of it. It's my second one also. Car was perfect as per tester and report sheet however has failed due to one of the tyre pressure sensor valves reporting as an error. It was replaced with a standard one before I bought it but I never had an issue with this as they can be between €120-150 to fit and replace. I'm happy for the error message to appear briefly after about 2 miles of each drive and the disappear. Common problem too with them corroding.

However, I understand RSA changes about 2 years ago now note this as a fail. Tester thought it was a joke but hey, he doesn't make the rules. Gona have to fork out now for a sensor and go back for someone to do a visual.
    Shambles!!!!

No real question here - just a bit if a rant and ramble!!!!

Could you not just clear the fault a few minutes before the test and then get it tested?

Is there no way to disable the tyre pressure monitoring system?
Does the message come in form of written message on display, or just a warning light?

Mine failed on corrosion on the break lines.. It's only had a NCT three months ago due to them back dating it its up in January so got it tested this morning. Wondering if it's possible for the break lines to corrode in a three months of the new disc

Could have been borderline the last time. Could have a tester with slightly different opinion etc.

In parallel world someone would leave it for a month to expire, and then rebook for a new full test. But then probably fail on lights or something...
My advise would be check the lines yourself and fix it if trully needed.

The error message comes up in written form, something like "tyre pressure not monitored" and it shows picture of car and flashing tyre(to indicate which tyre it is). It comes on shortly after starting and driving the car.

Maybe I could chance, after I attempt it myself, to bring it along, leave it parked, turn it on, leave it a minute and go "hey presto, no warning"??

Otherwise, I could look at clearing the fault as suggested. From some Google research this evening however, unless you have a diagnostics kit, a main dealer will need to disable the function but will cost about €80. Still cheaper I guess.
I might have a look to see if removing a fuse might disable it - Could remove fuse before test and put back after.

However, the only worry is that tester could look to see if valve has been replaced with a silver sensor one as opposed to the existing rubber one? It differs from the rest.

    Decisions decisions!

Anyone who's NCT is due January got emailed to have there car tested two months before and given dates for there test mine was earlier today. They failed my car on a bearing and corrosion on the break line..it's the time frame between the NCT cert I got 3 months and the test today and the corrosion that confused me

You could swap out the valve stem with one of these http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Tyre-Pressure-Sensor-VDO-Valve-Repair-Kit-TPMS-Jaguar-Land-Rover-Range-Rover-/321114341127?hash=item4ac3e7ff07:g:VP4AAMXQh5JRm2Vs as they should be the same as the Peugeot tpms....This way you could keep your tpm's on active.

Otherwise you could fit a regular rubber valve(s) and get the tpm system disabled by someone with peugeot planet/diagbox diagnostics...:)

Check the other 3 valves as they do tend to corrode and could potentially/ literately let you down some day....:D

Btw this is the link for the Peugeot tpms....:-)

I never knew that was a failure until now. A google later found the 2014 NCTS manual http://www.rsa.ie/Documents/NCT/NCT%20Manual%20Revise%20JULY%202014.pdf
and its there, test #60, page 94.
