I have the fluid one-it's a great piece of kit, although we have been so lucky in the last 2 winters with the mild weather that I haven't had to use it (that much!)

We bought a similiar one for my Dad last week in Chain Reaction that was a mix between the 2, in that it was like the Fluid, but had a resistance adjuster that you mounted to the bike-it came as a bundle with a drip mat, riser block and water bottle-reduced from something like 340 euro to 148.99..

It has since gone up a bit in price, and it is a mag as opposed to fluid..

That's looks like a pretty good deal with those bits 'n' bobs.
Would you say there's any "real world" difference between your fluid one and the one in the link above ?
The mag one looks to be quick release, I'm not sure if the fluid one is too ?
Don't even know if that's an issue !

Well, I haven't ridden the new one yet, but you can set up the fluid one and have your bike on it in about 20 seconds-just a case of removing your rear skewer, replacing it with the one for the turbo and clamping it on..TBH, for a few rides on the road, I have left the turbo skewer in..

You can do it even quicker if you have a dedicated turbo wheel and cassette-these days the top end turbo trainers such as the LeMond Revolution have built in cassettes, so you don't even need a wheel!

But if you intend on doing a lot of time on it, it is best to have a dedicated wheel and tyre for your trainer.

I'd be pretty sure that the clamp doesn't save a whole lot of time as there seems to be a dedicated skewer set up on that too..I'll post when I see it out of the box, but for sure, it is a good deal.

The first one will hurt you and bore you to tears but possibly make you faster

The second one may make you faster but will hurt you and bore you to tears

My advice is get a cross bike and good kit and you can cycle anywhere in any weather :)

    N+1, N+1...

    If in doubt, N+1.
