Entering Laos (Visa query)

    Sorry to have to ask but I'd rather be 100% certain. From what I've been able to gather, it will be possible for me and my buddy to arrive into Luang Prabang by plane from Siem Reap and then go through the visa process from the beginning, not needing anything except passport pics, return tickets and hotel address etc.

    Unlike with Cambodia and Vietnam where you have to have some of the documentation already completed and finished to present on arrival. This we have done, we have obtained e-visa's for both Cambodia and Vietnam so are comfortable with entering these without any hassles.

    Information on Laos Visa is scattered at best and I've not received a reply to my email from the Laos Embassy in the UK.
    So my question, has anyone here recently visited Laos and if so can you tell me what Visa process you managed? We will be flying into Luang Prabang from Siem Reap and will then - after a few days - be flying onto Hanoi.

    Sorry for the scatteredness of my query.

    Basically turn up with a passport photo and $35 and you'll get it there and then.

    Have returned from travelling in Cambodia, Vietnam & Laos, now we got our visa for Laos on arrival but we came from the Thailand border as were were in Thailand for few days and made our way to Laos from there. Cost was $30, all we had to was fill in form & have passport photo.
