I recently bought a Makita circular saw [190mm]. I want to buy a finer blade thatn the one that came with it.

I have never done this before. Are most blade fittings similar? Whats a decent but good value brand for irregular diy use?

I'm guessing you want to buy a blade with more teeth / finer cutting. Just take the size details of the blade and get a replacement in either b&Q / Woodies or online. You'll get them, in store for approx €20-25. You're looking specifically at the blade overall diameter and the bore hole diameter. Some blades come with a centre piece adapter allowing them to be used across a broader range of tools. 20mm / 30mm are common bore sizes. Swapping them over is easy.
