    They are a fantastic looking dog but to be honest, any I've ever seen working wouldn't even pick their own noses!

    These are the dogs I grew up with and didn't have any problems with them.

    Are they used mainly for water or are they good on land too gp what would they be like for woodcock never seen one working myself

    They are spaniels but work more like retrievers and are used for fur and feather land and water flushing and retriving some are known to point and or even catch fish. But I've not seen that. No water is too cold for them with the double coat which also protects them in heavy cover. My father who shot for many many years said the best phesant dog he ever had was a water spaniel

    They sound like a good all round dog I wonder is there still many used as working dogs around the country would love to see one of these dogs working
