I had a look through the posts and couldn't find one of these so feel free to delete if I've missed it!!

Just as it says in the title, do you fancy showing us the dress for the big day??

I'll kick off.....the red is for the 'secret' legal ceremony and the white is for the 'surprise' ceremony :-)

SecretBride, the white one is gorgeous! I have a friend who is looking for a dress in this style, can I ask where you bought it?

    Ah thanks divinegranny :-)

I ordered it online.....they were very easy to deal with, just send them your measurements and they make the dress for you.....there are different styles and materials. She even came back to double check measurements with me before placing the order...I ordered 2 petticoats to go under it too just to get that real 50s va va voom lol! I'm going to jazz it up a little with a diamanté sash and just need to decide on what to wear on my head!

    http://www.honeypieboutique.co.uk/

If she is anywhere near Lucan there's a brilliant shop there that I found yesterday that has amazing 50s dresses that are cheaper than ordering online. If she wants to try the style it would be a good place to pop into or even if she wants her bridesmaids in similar dresses....it's called LuluBelle Pinup and they have a FB page....I'm not affiliated to them by the way I just went in yesterday and they were really lovely to deal with. I bought my dress for my first ceremony within 5 mins lol! Easiest wedding dress I ever bought!

I'm not comfortable with my picture being on boards, so you'll have to make do with the lovely model wearing my dress :)

Photos just don't do it justice and also it still needs to be fitted (and steamed :pac: :pac:) and ignore the bra straps at the back, lol.

That's gorgeous dolbert! If I wasn't doing the registry office I may have gone for full length too. Can I ask if the fit was ok when it arrived? And did you get the petticoats too? Were they ok?

The fit was perfect, it has a corset back which helps. The inner dress is a good heavy bridal material which really holds you in. I didn't get the petticoats as I wasn't sure if they'd work with that length, just found a standard bridal hoop on adverts which worked perfectly!

Brilliant thank you! Mine has the corset back too but I'm quite 'booby' so hoping I get it in time just in case I need any adjustments. Holding in is an added bonus! Even more excited now lol!

I have the registry office (red dress) on January 11th and the surprise party (white dress) on January 16th....or as my countdown says, 51 and 56 days time!!! We only got engaged on September 29th so it's been a bit of a roller coaster!

It'll be here before you know it! I've been married before and did the more traditional thing of 18 months or so between engagement and wedding and it was the quickest 18 months of my life!! And your actual wedding day goes by in about 10 seconds!

August will be a lovely time....I love summer weddings :-)

Ah that's fab, thanks kat! There's always a small worry when you order online with a tight deadline. I was fine with it until she mailed me to check my measurements because they were a little 'unusual' lol!

Thank you I bought it in lilac rose in Limerick. It's from a designer called Eliza Jane howell and incredibly it was the cheapest dress I tried on that I actually liked.
