If you do some work yourself and then come here and ask about specific topics youd have a better chance of getting replies.

You're asking a very open-ended question as what's done will vary with the type of farming. What type of farming are you interested in?

Maybe if you hunt through blogs on-line you'll find one that gives a week by week account of life on a farm.

For a sheep farming perspective, try following "YorkshireShepherdess" or "Herdwick Shepherd" on twitter.
Get and read the Farmers Journal each week.

Or just ask the man in the street. He will tell you that farmers spend their time driving around in new Jeeps, holding up traffic in €100,000 tractors, and collecting EU Subsidies paid for by the average PAYE worker.

This seems to cover most aspects, beef, dairy, tillage, sheep

Conorh123 - I suggest that you contact some farmers directly, explain what you are trying to do and set up a meeting with them. Write out a list of key points of interest that you would like to learn more about. Bring your note pad and write down as much information as possible. Ask them can you take photos of cattle, sheep and various agriculture implements to add to your project.
You could also contact your local Macra club who I am sure would be more that willing to assist you/point you in the right direction.
When you have that groundwork done and need any further assistance then this site is an invaluable source of information.
    Best of luck :)

Good idea , but start with the local macra club as apposed to "cold calling" individual farmers

The reason you will find it hard to get an answer here is your question is too open
Different types of farmers do different things
A dairy farmer could spend 4 or 5 hours a day herding milking and washing up.
Sheep beef tillage vegetable farmers all have very different jobs and different routine's.
There are things like child care school runs etc.
come into it if there spouse is working as well as almost 70% of farmers have off farm income from other jobs.
Maybe pick one type of farmer.

On a Thursday evening around this time of year farmers in this neck of the woods gather together eating charcuterie, white cheese and gougeres whilst swilling copious amounts of Beaujolais Nouveau....:)

But to be fair - not all farmers have it as tough as you Dawg... ;)

Thanks for the info so far and to the smart arses, what jobs would a beef and sheep farmer be doing during the months of June to September . As our farm does not provide enough work / information to write on. Is they any farmers on this that could help me but I suppose most farmers wouldn't have time to be using this !

Where are you and what is it, in more detail, that you require.

Answer these questions and then people on here will know whether they can help .

Fair play on seeking first hand info and not settling on whatever Google throws up.

Conorh123 what type of farming do you do at home. You said that it is small but really size does not make a difference to the tasks that farmers have to do be it calving/lambing, silage, slurry, dosing, ploughing, tilling, etc. Irrespective of acreage we all have to complete these tasks throughout the year.
I reckon that your own home farm will give you a lot more information than you think.

I'm a sheep farmer, from june - September I'd be topping grass to maintain grass quality, controlling worms/parasites in lambs, weaning lambs late june/july. drafting lambs for sale late july/aug/September,
September I'd be sorting, dipping and preparing ewes for mating, ensuring they had enough of good grass for the month before mating

And you forgot to mention you have to spend all the time in between being a defender for the Ifa.

The point of the at science project is to show you have on farm experience, so this involves taking pictures of farm jobs throughout the year, not just one saturday .

If I can put together a decent project( not graded yet) coming from a non farming background then you as a farmer can.
