    Hi guys, so I have an area and volume test and I keep getting stuck on questions like the one down below. Any maths genius out there who would'nt mind working out this simple question if they get a chance and post the solution below? You would really be helping me out! Thanks so much in advance!

    Question: A cylindrical tank of radius 4cm is partly filled with water. A cone of radius 2cm and height 3cm is immersed in the water. By how much will the water rise?

    So , the volume of the cone = volume of water displaced.

    Volume of cone = 1/3 x pi x r^2 x h
    1/3 x pi x2^2 x3 = 4pi
    Volume of water displaced = pi x r^2 x h
    pi x 4^2 x h =16pih

    16 pi h = 4 pi
    h= 1/4 = .25cm^3
