Whichever one that is the least molested now at this stage, none of them are spring chickens.

imo the 1056 is a better engineered tractor, they can give lots of bother too.

Like all tractors, they both have good and bad points. I would buy whichever one I had more experience of. Case probably better built but a little more complex in the brake/handbrake department.
    Serious tractor to pull though

Ignoring the spat, look at the prices....Ford dear..IH cheaper....there's a reason why. Ford make good tractors and Toyota make good 4*4's. You'll never go too far wrong buying either.

Engine are soft in the 7810 and CASE IH is a great tractor too to be fair

Ford also knowingly made and sold 4 cylinder tractors with porous blocks. Most 4/5/6/7000 series have had major liner work and block replacement done. No other manufacturer in modern world would get away with what they done. Ford, in this case, did NOT make a good tractor (unless you own an engine shop).

AFAIK didn't Toyota do the same with the first d4d landcruiser with the leaky injectors. Warrenty on that issue was 30 seconds or 30 feet, whichever came first. Like a new Ford block

Collectors are starting to fall over each other for clean 7810's too...I agree that the german built IH's are great tractors - superb steel used in them throughout and the D and DT engines are bulletproof. But the Fords make more money and hold their value too. Can't say I'd be hugely bothered either way. Had a 4600, a 7700 in the past, have an 8210 in the yard, no problems, have a 885 we use at work and a JD 6310. I like them all tbh, for different reasons. No idea why it has to get so aggro, it's just an opinion.
