Course Requirements

I've a question about points and requirements. I was thinking of repeating my own leaving cert.

Do the requirements have to be part of your best 6 subjects when calculating your points?

Eg. "HC3 in Chemistry and either Physics or Biology and passes at H or O level in the Leaving Certificate from Irish, English, another language and Mathematics."

I have passed Irish, English and Maths already. But would be looking to do 6 other subjects and use them to calculate my points.

Will this be ok or am I completing missing something?

    Thanks

Matriculation requirements can be covered by multiple leaving cents

Points totals can only come from one leaving Cert

Entry requirements can be covered by multiple leaving cents is generally the case but is not always the case.

For example, undergraduate entry to medicine for school leavers is based on getting 480 points and meeting all of the entry requirements in the same sitting of the Irish Leaving Cert plus completing the required HPat entrance exam. This means that you would have to repeat English, Irish , a third language and maths as well as obtain a HC3 in Chemistry and either Physics or Biology in the same year if you were considering applying for undergraduate entry to medicine in UCC.

You have to check this for each of the courses for which you are applying.

Medicine is the only course in the country that requires all subjects to be passed in one sitting. Requirements for all other courses can be a combination of Leaving Certs, with points total coming from one Leaving Cert .
