    Hi All,

I am looking for a hotel in Amsterdam for 3rd - 6th December for about 100e ish per night.

Would prefer central enough, as we will have a toddler with us.

lastminute.com had a great one but I was dithering too much and missed :(

    thanks

Xaviera's Amsterdam Bed and Breakfast is coming in at 305 for your three nights on venere and hotels.com. Venere seems to have an additional discount code too.
25 off a selection of places if you paay in advance and spend more than 250 - don't know if Xaviera's in a particpating hotel. Code: 25OFF2015

It's a bit quirky but I think it's as close as you'll get to the city centre without going into dorm type hostels. Some friends stayed there a few years ago and found it grand - and a bit amusing.

Accommodation is so expensive in Amsterdam. We used an apartment we found on Air B'n'B and it was about 80e a night and in a great location.

Xaviera wouldn't work with an toddler too much to destroy :D

We use Airbnb all the time but we haven't found any suitable for the stupid child. I remember when booking holidays were fun :(

There are a few around Vondlepark which will do.

We have family in Haarlem who are pushing for us to stay out there.

I went to the HOtel Krasnapolsky, dam square, AMsterdam last time, it was perfect, especially location, but perhaps a bit more than 100e.
Normally, I like to go to tripadvisor.com to find good advices to find an hotel

I just back and I stayed in citizenM it's a 10min tram ride from the city centre and comes every 10 mins until 12:30 at night . I paid €156 for 2 nights Friday and Saturday . The hotel was lovey but it's made for couples and not a group of lads. The shower is in full view in the bedroom so prepare to see someone wash themselves ha if your going alone or with a partner hen go there

Booked Tulip Inn on Dam Square, it was within the price range.

looks grand on trip advisor but I don't really hold much stock in the reviews there.

Location of that hotel is good but the decor was out of date when I was there a few years ago. Also, our room faced on the square and we had to put up with a fair amount of noise during the night. Not worth the money I paid for it.

There's a new type of budget hotel/hostel after opening in Amsterdam last month called CityHub. Basically you have your own room or "pod" and then share the communal bathroom/shower facilities. I stayed there for two nights last week and loved it. Can't go wrong for €60 a night either with a great location close to the Vondelpark. Perhaps not suited for families with young kids mind.

Not suited to people in their 40's - my backpacking hostels days are way way behind me. :D

Stayed in hotel blyss near vondelpark last weekend...reviews were 3/5 but i thought it was fine, only complaint id have is the walls were pretty thin and it was noisy in the morning. Room was fine otherwise, and pretty close to the leidseplein.

    Was around 90€/night
