2012 Megane - Cooling Fan Staying On

Hi All. Wondering if anyone here might be able to help. I have a 2012 Renault Megane Coupe. Its the 1.5DCi 110hp. I bought the car earlier this year as a Cat D repair and the car had a new bumper, radiator and headlights replaced.
My problem is when there is heavy rain or if I wash the car the radiator cooling fan comes on and stays on for about a day. It goes off after a day and stays off until it rains heavy again. I am wondering if anyone here has experienced a similar problem or would know where to start. I am sure its a faulty sensor but not sure which one to swap out. I would welcome any suggestions as its driving me mad. Cheers.

Water is getting into UCH or UPC

You could try disconnecting the sensors one at a time. I'd expect the one that controls the fan to be towards the bottom of the radiator.
Does your car have A/C? If so, that could also be switching the fan on.

    Hi Blackbox
The car does have A/C and I have read that this can turn the fan on. However the fact that it staying on all the time and even with the A/C off is pointing me towards the first solutions. Do you mind me asking what a UCH or UPC are. Could I order these on the like of micks garage ?

I'm not familiar with the terms UCH and UPC. Perhaps Pie-Man can enlighten us.

Looks like UPC is an underbonnet switching unit, apparently near the battery.

The UCH (Unite Centrale Habitacle) is an electronic control module that is fitted to many late model Renaults.

Thanks Blackbox and Dero. Will drop it to the mechanic and get him to check both. Thanks

Not a DIY effort, moved out to main forum.

Hi All. Just a quick update as it ay help someone else down the line. Dropped the car into Renault and the problem lies with a faulty Air Con Refridgeration Sensor. They have ordered the part and will fit next week. Thanks again to everyone who tried to help with this problem.
