It's better than just lying there

Read a book, put on a DVD or make yourself something to eat and listen to the radio.

Light – particularly blue light – supresses melatonin secretion so, no, it's not better than just lying there!

Go on YouTube and find relaxing music. Stick earphones in and try to relax.

Get out of bed for a bit; read, watch tv, get some fresh air.

Lying in bed when not tired won't help.

Their are methods of getting to sleep really quick. Relax yourself and get yourself into a comfortable position you will drift into a gentle slumber.

Two fingers up your bum and hum the theme tune to Last of The Summer Wine, you'll be out like a light.

If I fall asleep now I won't wake up I know it. I'd say I won't bother going to sleep tbh

More fingers. Keep going up a digit if it fails until you find the perfect number.

Count all the corrupt politicians in Ireland and their "strokes"

And plan how to get revenge on each and every one of them

That should pass a lot of time………………zzzzzzzzzz

Latest theory apparently is lying in bed is the best way of getting to sleep.
You need to clear the head though and stop thinking about it.

I'm a big fan of bluelight filters. I have one on my phone permanently and have a programme called f.lux on my laptop. I've noticed a difference since starting to use them.

I also find it helpful to think about really odd and random things, the way dreams go. Even go back through a dream you remember from recently. Make sure you're comfortable physically. Try to do something boring but mentally challenging, like learn about the history of the balkans...

    Hey,

If you're still awake you've only 2hours until your alarm goes off :)

Go find yourself a bodhrán or improvise and turn this up for yourself <-- Should keep you awake until the alarm goes off

    Happy Listening,
