After a one hour spin in the rain my frame has a lot of water swishing around in the frame. It must be getting in some place but can't seem to see where it may be getting in. My other bikes have a hole below the BB to let it out but the PX don't have it. I have to move it around, turn it upside down and release it out the seat post. Any one experience this issue? Thanks.

Mark your seatpost with a bit of tape so you know the height.
Take out you seatpost and drain out the water the lash a load of some sort of grease inside the seatpost tube and some on the seatpost.

Meaning that it's getting in the seat post to the frame?

It's normal for some water to seep in somewhere. I wouldn't be worried.

This was a lot tho. Recken at least half a bottle. I have a Eston seat post open at the top and that's prime location so far.

If there are no drain holes under the BB then more then likely ( if no mudgards are being used) then probably dripping down through the seatpost but also the grease stops the seatpost fusing to the frame.

No drain holes. Used carbon paste on the seat post.

Are there no drain holes on the chainstays?

Might it have been collecting for a while unnoticed?

I have a Planet X RT57 bike and I just counted 7 drain holes in the carbon frame, 2 under the chain stay, 2 near the bottom of the rear stay, 1 near the bottom of the sloped main tube and 2 at the bottom of the front forks.

Two at the end of the chain stay bars but they are higher that the BB but don't know how they could drain anything away.

Thanks. This is prob an early version of the Pro.

I just hang the bikes up vertically for a few minutes after a long wet ride and let the water drip out.

Well I dried and taped up the points where I think it may be getting in, expansion ring at back of seat post and opens at top of aftermarket seat post, to see if that makes a difference. I think I read somewhere early PX had some design flaws so maybe a lack of a drain point around BB is one. There is a vid on YouTube of some Irish guy very disappointed with a nr2 with water in the frame, wonder how he got on?

    I have a Planet X Carbon Pro.
During the week, I installed a new BB and greased the headset. So everything was dry, when I'd finished.
This morning, I did 3 hours on the bike. We had to turn back at one stage, because of floods on the road. We cycled through three or four other floods.
When I read your post, I did a good check on my bike. I held the bike up, front wheel in the air. Then I took out the seat post, and turned bike upside down.
In total, about half an egg cup drained out.
I don't know, if this is any help to you.

It does thanks. As I said above I taped a few spot do hopefully, it's a winter bike so not to worried but none of my other bike have this issue. That said they may take in water but I feel they drain it out too.

After a wet spin I used stand my SL Pro on it's back wheel outside for a minute and a lot would drain out the rear stays. Another spot for ingress on them is where the FD cable exits the frame at the BB, there's no seal around the cable/hole.

Have you noted any other drain points? I noted what you mentioned but I think it's the seat post as it getting hit consistently with water from the back wheel.

No just in the rear stays from memory. Don't have the frame anymore so can't check for you.

Hey, update in this. Over the last few weeks I have been out and I think I have the issue resolved.
I used black insulting tape to neatly tape up the entry points that I tho may be the problem. If you stretch the tape and o it neatly one won't notice it.
The point were, bolt holes on either side and the bottom it the carbon seat post. The main one is was the keyhole slot just below the cramp. Water seems to hit this band on.
Anyhow lots of wet rides and great reduced water ingress, just a few drops. Result!
Hope this may help a few out there!
