Returning package to amazon

I ordered an item from amazon through parcel motel. I am now returning the item and I got return labels to stick on the outside of the package. I packaged up the item, stuck on the labels and dropped it into the post office on Tuesday, amazon said postage was paid so I put no stamp on it. I checked the amazon site today and it still says that they items have not been received. I looked again at the labels and they said that it should be dropped off at a Collect Plus location. Will an Post still deliver the package to amazon or will it be stuck in limbo somewhere as An Post probably haven't actually been paid to deliver the package. The items have to be returned by the 23rd so not much time left. Any help would be appreciated.

It's very unlikely that An Post will deliver it. You need to return it via Parcel Motel. Go to your account and select Collect+ from the returns drop down menu. You will have to pay for this but that's the risk of using Parcel Motel's NI address.

I don't really mind paying for it but how will I get the package back as it has been put into the post? Is their any way I can get it back, I didn't put a return address though.

Do you have the receipt? I'd enquire about it at the post office. I doubt that it's gone very far.

No receipt unfortunately, I will try to enquire at the post office tomorrow. Would it be sent back to the original post office?

I don't have any experience of this but I would imagine so. Otherwise try calling An Post and see if they can trace it for you. It could take quite a while to recover though.

was you name in the return labels? Contact the post office (surprise they accepted the parcel without charging anything) also maybe contact the sorting office and anpost customer service, they should let you know what the process it to get the parcel back.

When you get the parcel back you can contact Amazon explain that you are in Ireland, they should issue new labels to return the parcel from Ireland.

They will usually only issue a return label for the Country the Package was sent to.....Northern Ireland (or Great Britain) in this case.

They do issue labels for other countries like Ireland if requested just need to contact customer service on chat, been done in the past lots of times for other users here in boards.

When I use PM and want to return something I get a returns label one up and then contact c/s to change the details so it can be returned to their logistics function in Rathcoole.
They just change the details and send you a new label.

They refused to give me a returns label last year for an item I got through parcel motel . Wrong item was sent.. In fairness it was at the limit of what parcel motel would carry without charging more.

It won't be returned to the post office, it will be held at the Return Letter Branch

It may take days to find out where your parcel is, or even longer, and to be honest you're more than likely not going to get it back in time to return it to Amazon by the 23rd.
