What are ye guys using for housing this year? I was using Albex and a Generic Ivermectin the last few years, but finding them less effective these days.

A lot of advice round these parts not to be using ivermectins at dry off, due to the possibility of the herd building resistance to it. If ur cows get hit with a high worm burden in mid lactation, ur only option is eprinex/eprizero, if ur cows already have resistance to that u could find urself in a spot of bother.

Will do in two weeks when finished buying in and then again end of Jan.
All get a bolus when doses in two weeks.

Anaecdotal evidence of Mature fluke resistant to Albex here in north wexford. And I doubt it's much better on some types of worms.

Ever since slaney started sending back the fluke reports this is coming to light in thes parts.. A lot of lads using it for a long time I think is where the problem now stemmed.

Anybody using lime to control lice rather than a pour-on I'm told that it is affective, thinking of giving it a shot this year.

    How do you apply this?

Yes all the time. Just as good as those useless lice pour ons

Would that be cubical lime? The builders lime would it burn their hide?

Builders lime use. Shave their backs and put it on them. No problem with hide burning
