Planting a few oaks (less than 10) in hedges coroners of a few fields. Ash etc happlly growing there. Land can be heavy in winter and would be naturally acidic. Which is better Sessile or Pedunculate Oak? Also which is more useful trees for planking etc. Now not be an issue in my life time but always good to plant something thats useful if you can. Thanks

Of the 2, Sessile does better on that type of land. The few scraps of native woods in such areas(Killarney NP etc.) are all dominated by this species.
