Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Spoilers for star wars from Rebels Season 205
The empire used to make some sense, it might have been "evil" and ruled over by a sith lord but there was some logic to it..... In the first 40 seconds of this episode it is established that the empire has increased (doubled) the production quota of a planet (ok its cruel but could be explained away by suggesting that the planet has untapped resources or a lax labour source or high rate of unemployment) but what makes no sense is the situation is so dire that the planet needs food drops from the rebels to prevent starvation related deaths, in addition the empire has committed 3 cruisers and 2 destroyers, although not star destroyers its still several hundred troops or more for the blockade (not counting the garrison on the planet)
The expenditure of resources for the blockade, the deaths of the populace from starvation resulting in lower production, the assumption that starvation related deaths might even incite even 1 in 100 people on the planet to revolt against the empire.

it makes as much sense as the Chewbacca defense

You are doing some things right disney like
the prototype b-wing fired 4 beams that meet in the centre to form a single more powerfull blast, it always seemed strange that the death star was the only ship that used that type of weaponry if its all in the same universe but they are now incorporating technological progression

Anyway i head that disney had a whole team devoted to establishing a new cannon/lore andt that all the new filsm would be based off the same "bible" but this does not make sense

It's a kid's cartoon, I wouldn't be too offended if there was a few plot holes or doesn't make 100% sense. Some of the pre-Disney Clone Wars and movie stuff doesn't make much sense either.
There was already a team at lucasfilm to ensure story lines for films/novels/cartoons was compatible with the Star Wars universe so it probably just carried over to Disney with the buy out.

I don't know, it kind of makes sense if you tie it into the whole production discussion that took place on the Death Star in RotJ, the Emperor is ruling by iron fist and fear, he also was known to be extremely cruel to some planets to use them as an example to other planets.

In regards to the resources, don't forget that they had a lot of resources tied up as part of the Clone Wars, these have now been freed up to do other tasks, they are also training a lot of Storm Troopers, I would say resourcing isn't an issue.

Finally, power of numbers doesn't mean that people will revolt, over a million people were killed in Auschwitz but there was only ~7,000 soldiers patrolling it.
