    Hi

I am wondering could someone recommend a laptop with a good amount of storage space and fast. I will be using it mainly for work (Ms word, PowerPoint, excel ) and watching movies.
Or what kinda things should I be looking out for? Would it be cheaper to get off amazon or in a shop like Harvey Normans ?
    Basically any advice really appreciated

You don,t need a laptop with a fast graphics card ,
for work or watching movies ,
no need to pay extra for a gaming laptop with ati or nvidia card.
    One with
a standard intel graphics card will be fine .
Check has it got hdmi out for easy connection to a hdtv.

If you read what i said for a advanced laptop i said good grapics card i also gave basic specifications its entirely up to the person on what they want to do on laptop.

One with a non ssd drive is better , get one with a 15 inch screen,
    4gig ram,
this is a good one .price is very reasonable.

    Get a laptop with 4 gig ram,15inch Wide screen,hdmi out .500gig hd.
harvey norman have sales on laptops every now and again.
i bought a hp laptop 100 euro off normal price,EX display model . in power city ,in 2010 .
it , no media remote control,no hp manual, in the box it as new .
    its still works fine,
ex display laptops for sale ,
But you have to ring them up or go to shop to get info on ex display laptops.
display model is as new , maybe missing ,manual ,or original box.
Or original laptop box maybe creased, the laptop still has 2 year warranty .
you can get manual ,online from laptop maker website, support.
Powercity is as cheap as amazon in my opinion,
I think power city have basically the same models as harvey norman ,
    in my experience .

i bought a hp laptop, sony ,toshiba laptop, new

i find toshiba the best built ,designed and tougher than other models .

For what you want it to do and the price that looks like a pretty good deal all round.

For your purposes no need for anything fancy 4gb ram would be the minimum recomended to anyone for a new laptop but 8 would be great.

An ssd would be nice for boot times but windows 10 like windows 8 before it isn't that slow to boot on a hdd anyways and having 2tb of storage is alot and means not having to try and upgrade it down the line if you store alot of photos music or videos on it.

All in all a good spec that will do everything you want it to.

    Hi,

Sorry to interrupt your thread but rather than start a new one with the same title...

Boyfriend looking for a basic laptop, solely for internet use. His only requirement is that it have HDMI. I've found these two black friday deals & was wondering could anyone advise if these are completely useless, or if not which is better? Thanks a million

The Stream11 has a slightly better processor. Battery life better too.
