new boiler-- radiator problems

Hi Parents got a new boiler installed and rads were flushed out , not physically taken off pipes but plumber ran some stuff through them to collect iron fillings and then a sealant .

Of 9 rads 3 are very hot others vary from hot on top to luke warm on bottom.

If boiler is on for a few hours and then off for say 2 hours and then turned back on one or two of the rads will not heat up .

They have been on to the Plumber who sent out his gimp a couple of times who did shag all trouble shooting , don't even think he balanced them since he put in the boiler.

Plumber was back out with them today and says there must be a leak in the pipes somewhere and told them to ring a leak detection crowd.

So after paying 3.8 k for a boiler worth 1.5k and to get system flushed they are told this !!

What are the odds that there is a leak, and is there anything I could check myself .

    Cheers.

To see if there's a leak first establish if the system is open or sealed
is there a big and a little tank in the attic if so the system is open and if there us a leak there will be water filling into the little tank, check when the system is cold. If the system is sealed then there will be an expansion vessel somewhere it's a red metal ball shaped thing a bit bigger than a football.

I'd say your main issue is that you got a so called Flush. Your system wasn't powerflushed. It was chemically flushed and in my opinion is a complete waste of time and money, and your system is proof of that.
Get a competent installer out if I were you. Post your location and somebody here might be able to guide you towards somebody who knows what they are doing

killiney area -- in your opinion is that plumber speaking rot or is there a chance there is a leak.

Thought as much about the chemical flush , he screwed them for alot of money for it too, and they are a major company on southside .
