I was looking at a transit camper year 2000, The mileage on clock was mad,over six hundred thousand ,The seller said it was a fault caused by putting a wrong bulb in tail light that caused odometer to go wrong. Can he be right

Mine goes backwards if you spin the cable with a drill from the gearbox.
