I was looking for my phone under the drivers seat of my Japanese import toyota vitz and i found this little black box with wires coming out of it. The wires go under the carpet so i cant follow where they are going.Just curious if any one knows what it is. Ive had the car since 2001 and its the first time i saw it.

Ill post a pic if i can work out how.

    Cheers

I'd say it's some kind of after market kill switch.

If you go over 120kmph does an alarm go off?

Fuel cut off. Don't push your seat back hard when driving in case it thinks you've crashed.

Ive only got it over 120 a couple of times on the motorway and no alarm.

There is some Japanese writing on the box. I tried translating online but it was nonsense.

Boards wont let me post a picture because im a new user.

Yep very similar to that picture.

It has 0f01 stamped on it too. In you picture it looks like something similar is written but it is a little blurry.

Is it connected to the seat?

Remote locking module I'd say. Found on lots of Toyotas.

Install an App called Wordlens.. It uses you camera and can roughly translate Japanese.

It could be the factory fitted amp, mine is under the passanger seat, lots of JDM Toyotas have them.
