Not yet....still grazing out fields near the sheds to stop them for lambing time....moving to other
/rougher fields in a week or so time until xmas will prob start in a fortnights time....sent round feeder off to be repaired yesterday and had notion of buying a second feeder

Has anyone ever bought the type with a closed top and bottom section with just a opened middle bit....was hoping it would reduce wastage

I find the round feeders with the bale on their side to be a better job than standing upright.

    I find less wastage

No hay here yet. Had loads of grass and hoping to get another month out of it, but that heavy rain really knocked the hell out of it.

Yep your lucky to have access to that.
Have enough grass for a month here too. Would have more if I didn't have so many lambs left late this year

All lambs gone here a month apart from 14 so not sure what I'm doing wrong grass wise, fertiliser went out September and all soils index 4, lime situation pretty good but grass has disappeared

    Maybe just to far north

I think I'll have to start next week. Move the last lot to dryest few fields as rest of farm now very wet. Colder weather means there getting though what's there for them and thats certainly it for grass growth this year.

I've sheep on silage for last week or so. I still have grass but letting it to the lambs and saving on meal. Also the ewes were well flushed before tupping and were risking going over fat. have excess silage so no point on letting it go to waste.
