    Stephen's Green West, all the way from Cuffe St to Stephens Green North/Dawson Street, both ways. Just make it official already, nobody turns left or right anyway.

    Personally no where, I think drivers and cyclists should be able to safely and courteously share the road with each other without segregation. Also what ever's built will be fcuked in some way so nothing is better than something so badly designed you don't use it and get punished by drivers for not using it.

    If it's done right? The N11 I suppose. It's such a contentious piece of road to cycle on at the minute. I hate the South Circular road too, but I can't really logically say why. Maybe a canal extension? Although I cycle on the road instead of using that cycle lane. N11 is what I'm left with I guess!

    Perhaps tthe council gods might read:

    Parallel to the N7 from Newland's X to J6 Steelstown. Veloroute type design across the junctions rather than braving the slip roads on-ramps and off-ramps.

    Sorry, I thought you were asking about a cycle lane anywhere, not somewhere there currently isn't a road for vehicular traffic (non trams and trains!).

    I have to agree with gadetra on this one. The concept of sharing the road is so simple yet is beyond the grasp of so many.

    Before I even begin to think about where I'd like a cycle lane, I'd like to be confident that the person/people planning it actually know what the fcuk they are doing. Loss of priority, expectation that I use pedestrian crossings, pedestrians that see them as footpaths. Does some planner think we need to wrapped in cotton wool?

    For now, the advisory cycle lanes on the road (the ones with the broken lines) are all I need and they do fine despite being blocked by a car once in a while but that is inevitable as they are on the road so I'm happy to share it.

    I've tried so many times to use that cycle lane/path northbound on the Swords Road from Drumcondra to Whitehall in an effort to avoid slowing busses and taxis down but it's a disaster with oncoming pedestrians, other bikes, school kids on scooters, etc that I just gave up using it. I'll just use that one example before this post becomes an essay/major rant.

    I'll stick to the road.

    If you do get the cycle lane on Jame's Street I can only hope that it's one worth using but for now, I have little faith.

    That road from James's Street down to Heuston only has Luas tracks and pavements, Gadetra.
    Steeven's Lane I think it's called - presumably because it's beside Dr Steeven's Hospital.

    I'd like all of them removed from Wexford Town, particularly the one outside the entrance to Halfords. The off-road one around Killeens is just unusable, waste of money. If an off-road or semi off-road one could be added on the fast narrow roads on the outskirts of town (Newline road and road to Castlebridge) that would be great, but not an on-road one.

    They are footpaths, that's why they are called pedestrian crossings.     They are footpaths, that's why they are called pedestrian crossings. No pedestrian has any objection to you walking your bike across the crossing if you wish, the problems arise because of self centred cyclists who refuse to dismount when the difference in time of walking or cycling across the width of road could hardly be measured.

    And that's my point. So many cycle lanes end up at pedestrian crossings (or alongside them). The relatively new cycle lanes in each direction out by Dublin Airport on the R132 are perfect examples.

    I prefer the priority the road offers me rather than wait (and dismount if required). I'm aware that other cyclists prefer to use these crossing points as I sometimes see it happen. I'm just offering my opinion which is not the be all and end all. ;)

    I feel differently. I'd like respect and care for motorists, but would also like a nice network of lanes where the drivers can't get at me.

    Found a nice lane at the Back of the Pipes today, snuggled in on the green behind the Luas tracks.

    That's a pinch point alright. The footpath inbound is quite wide. I'm surprised some of it hasn't been utilised for a cycle lane. Outbound there's a lot less scope without widening the bridge.

    Any number of Dublin City Centre one way streets could do with a counter flow bike lane. Loads of people go the wrong way up one way streets anyway. They could do with assessing the "desire routes" and sticking in a few counter-flow lanes to make it official.

    Leading on from St Stephens Green West, South King St (beside the Gaiety) could do with a bike track. It is already a de facto bike route judging by the amount of cyclists who roll up and down there.

    There was talk of that during the Swords Swiftway BRT consultation. Plan was to build a new footpath above the existing bridge to get from Fagans to the Millmount house.
    I think just at the start of the path at scansounds it's too narrow for a mixed cycle lane.

    Yes, it would have to have those plastic bollards to prevent encroaching by large vehicles.

    Just thinking now that many years ago I failed my first artic truck test on that bridge. A cyclist who was on the footpath suddenly hopped off it into the road in front of me. The tester said afterwards that I should have anticipated that he would do so. It was a wet wintery Friday evening at rush hour - talk about being stressed out! :)
