NCT Question

I am booking my car in for the NCT and the front passenger door handle will not open the door from the inside, you have to lower the window and open it from the outside handle. Is this an NCT fail ? Or is it not included in the list of checks they do?

    Thanks in advance.

Im pretty certain they wouldn't be checking the inner handles as part of the test. The drivers seat is the only one they sit in.
It is dangerous though and should be fixed.

I put a golf through several times with the same issue. And couldnt find it on the official test list. Even so...as said above...safetywise its one of those things worth fixing.

It comes under Chapter 15 "Doors/locks/anti-theft devices" in the NCT manual.
    1 A door missing.
2 Door cannot be shut or opened normally or is liable to open on its own.
    3 Insecure receivers or catch.

But unless they're sitting in the passenger seat, how would they know?

Thanks everyone for their replies. It is a safety issue as you pointed out and needs fixing. So it looks like a fail if they find it.
