No signal on sky channels.

    My elderly neighbour has an enigma 2 box (LX1). All the sky channels are showing no signal and are greyed out with the message tuner not configured correctly. yet the Bt, setanta,ruk etc are fine. I have tried running Autoboquets 28.2 and a rescan. No sign of them. Both polaritys V and H are effected. When i scan a single transponder that has a sky channel on either polarity it finds no channels. I brought my own box up and its the same result. :confused:

    Could it be that the dish moved a little bit when the wind last couple of days? Check cable in dish to make sure it's ok. Or maybe damage cable.

    I would go along with this as you have tried your own working box there and got same
    It does not take much of a move to affect picture
    failing that I would look at the lnb

    Not familiar with the lx1 but most enigma boxes have a signal meter built in what signal %
    are you getting

    I was getting up to 85% quailty on the channels he had yet 0% on the sky package. The dish alignment was perfect despite some very strong winds. So I swapped out the lnb ,scanned and lo and behold all channels again available.Any channel with a symbol rate of 27500 was not been found which just so happened to be all the sky sd package. Amazingly the sky Hd channels which have a symbol rate of 29500 were all populating.

    Maybe all the problem channels are in the high band of the LNB? So the old LNB just wasn't switching to high band.

    I think if I encounter a similar story again I'll go straight for the lnb. Would have saved me a lot of time and head scratching.
    The lnb (revez quad) was only a couple of months old as well.

    For transponders above about 11700 MHz (high band), the LNB should switch to downconvert by 10600 MHz, rather than 9750 MHz for TPs below this (low band).

    The 29500 & 27500 symbol rates are, to the best of my knowledge, because DVB-S2 can use more of the available TP bandwidth without causing excessive interference to adjacent TPs. (RF bandwidth is about 40 MHz, with the 22000/23000 DVB-S/DVB-S2 TPs being about 30 MHz.)
