    Hi,

So just back from the NCT test with my 00 Opel Corsa, it failed on one thing - Steering Linkage Rack & Pinion worn on both sides.

I haven't got much knowledge about cars so would anyone be able to give me any advice as to how much it will cost to get this fixed?

    Thanks in advance!

I got my steering rack done a few months ago. Garage sourced a decent 2nd hand one and fitted it and it cost me 300 cash. That was a whole steering rack though.

Had a feeling it could end up costing me something like that, would you have any idea if there's a possibility that the whole rack might not have to be changed?

could just be the inner tie rods either side, not too dear to buy or fit

Yep so I had someone look at it and he reckoned that all 4 tie rods are very worn, inner and outer causing a lot of play. I've been quoted €220 to replace all 4 and get it tracked - how does that sound?
