I bought one about 2 months ago,bit fiddly to figure out but seems to work pretty well, had a small holding pen with a hen and 2 poults, something killed the poults so I removed the hen and put in the camera and it too pics and vids of dirty rats in the pen, handy little piece of equipment to have.

hi , I bought a Bushnell trophy cam last year second hand from a very nice chap on boards , I only got to use it last month on an area where I taught there might be rats , easy enough to setup ,it takes 8 AA batteries and a sd card I used a 32gb sd card , and I left it out for 3 wks and the video footage I got back was crystal clear day and night activity of foxes cats mice shrews rats , it picked up everything , even creepy crawlies , excellent piece of kit ,

I have an acorn, a Lidl and an Aldi. I had a suntek. The acorn emails me the image within a minute or so of it being triggered. Other than that the quality on all 3 is the same at 12mp. One item to check is the min delay you can set between triggering images. In my experience the less the better. 2 seconds allows for a second photo when setting up on a trail where animals pass by. Any longer and you get a head followed by an arse photo.
Definitely worth spending 20mins testing them in position as the side pirs can trigger to early and may need to be switched off.

Lidl/Aldi units were approx 90euro and I have seen end of line stock for 49.99 in a Dublin Aldi. At this money you can nearly afford to leave in situ for 8 months at a time and forget where you placed them. I did this and the suntek suffered from condensation as a result of heat and moisture. All my units seemed to get tired with exposure and moisture creep eventually.
I am some distance from my permissions so getting an email with an image is enjoyable.
My suggestion is to start with aldi/lidl and work up to more expensive units.
