Checking in hand luggage

Flying with Ryanair tomorrow and have no checked bags just hand luggage. Travelling with small kids and was wondering if it was possible to "check in" the hand luggage at the desk without additional charges to avoid hauling everything through the airports.
I did this before but only when I had checked in baggage.
Have tried the Ryanair live chat service but they only seem to quote back hand luggage allowances.
    Any advice or experience appreciated.

Ryanair will now check in hand luggage on request but only if you are checking in other items

They often look for volunteers to check luggage at the gate also

The service you're looking for doesn't exist, you either carry the bag yourself through the airport and on to the plane, or you pay the airline to take it off you in the check-in area and transport it to the destination.

On my last trip abroad I checked in two bags with Ryanair at the desk and they also offered to take all our hand luggage into the hold. It was then available to pick up at the destination on the normal carousel. This is what I'm asking about.

Have seen them take hand luggage out of the cabin when everyone was on board as there wasnt enough space in the overhead lockers.

It's only at the boarding gate that you can "check in" hand luggage for free, and then it depends on how full the flight is. If you're trying to get rid of your luggage during the flight, and you've got reserved seating, wait until two thirds of the queue (or more) has gone through and see whether the gate staff are offering to place bags in the hold. If they are, you can volunteer yours at that point.

Just remember, though, all your LiIon batteries have to come on board with you.

They will take your hand luggage if you go to the drop off desk. Done it many times before, no hassle.

    Cheers
