Have to reboot modem everyday

Need some advice please as I'm stumped

I have this re-occurring problem every day, some of my Wi-Fi devices an iMac and Mac Mini can't obtain an IP address. They're getting wifi from an Airport Time Capsule as I have the Wi-Fi turned off on the UPC modem.

The odd thing is that an Apple TV also has the same issue with getting an IP address but it's wired into the Airport Time Capsule.

I've tried rebooting each device individually and the airport Time Capsule but this changes nothing the only thing that resolves it is rebooting the UPC modem.

The Cisco was replaced for a technicolour and the airport Time Capsule was also replaced within the last six months but The issue still persists.

It most be some configuration setting as both all Hardware has been replaced. I'm out of my depth and could really do with some help

UPC have done what they can and I even tried calling their premium support but can never get an answer.

You should make sure your time capsule is up to date (they do usually autoupdate). I had some issues on mine for a while and they were resolved after an update.

Maybe on your imac and mac mini instead of using obtain automatically, you could set specific IP's for each device.

You could try the wifi on the UPC modem to see if you are still having the issue.

I would wager you have DHCP enabled on the Airport AND the UPC, which is what you dont want. IPs are releasing, but from the wrong device.

Disable DHCP on the airport and test.
