I was in Tesco, Galway this morning and saw they have 50% off all Soda Stream. The starter pack was less than €50 (think it was about €44, had to walk away before I bought one).

    Interesting.

GF was working for them doing some promo work so got a machine on the cheap and really like it. Unsure why I stopped using it. But if the juice is being sold at a reduced rate might well get back into it ahead of Christmas and stock up.

The Cola and energy drink were delicious :D

I've heard people use soda stream on wine to make sparkling wine, this makes me want to run to Tesco right now!!!

They aren't exactly popular because there is controversy because their Israeli owners built one of their factories on disputed land apparently taken from Palestinian families and Bedouin tribes evicted by the Israeli army.

Plus the Nutri-Bullet/Ninja are hurting sales.

Perhaps these are the last of the "Made In Israel" branded boxes and they will now have the EU approved "Product from West Bank (Israeli settlement)".

They can't sell them for sh*te, John Lewis removed SodaStream products from it's shelves last year and Ireland has always been a supporter in general of the Palestinians. Argan Oil and Dead Sea Salt are other common Israeli goods.

And here was me thinking it was cause they are shite & expensive and take up more counter space.

The concentrates do 12L and at full price would be €5, so 83cent for 2L and not including gas. Many own brand stuff would be cheaper, with gas included branded ones are probably cheaper if got on offer, which it constantly is.

    are they worth getting?

my other half loves sparkling water, now it doesnt break the bank to grab a supply in Aldi, but thought maybe an idea to make our own

what price we talking with these refills?

    where can one get them?

Refills are usually 15 quidish (you have to return the empty cylinder to get it at this price). You can get them in Power City, Argos, probably Tesco too if they're selling them now.I've bought 2 refills since I got mine well over a year ago.

Thought about buying it in the past but couldn't justify given the facts of the matter. Good discount for those that don't care.
