11 digit phone number on my partners bill?

Hi, can anyone explain why there is an 11 digit phone number on my partners mobile bill. Its showing up every day, at least twice and sometimes up to 8-10 times. Each time is only for 3-4 seconds at a time and its not being charged for on his bill. The number begins with 0855 with another 7 digits following this.

Initially when I asked about this, I was told he didn't know. When I called this number (from my own phone) it asks me to enter my mailbox number (??)

Other difficulties happening in this relationship so Im wondering if this is another chip that he is putting in? Or is it a website or something?

Any insight would be most helpful,

    Thanks

It's voicemail number, ring the number with 0855xxxxxxxxx but drop that last 5 and that's who the voicemail box belongs too.

If the number 085xxxxxxxx isn't your partners, why is he checking that mail box so often?

No, obviously no-one here can explain why your partner keeps ringing a given number.

As mentioned above, he's ringing directly into an 085 voicemail-box. But again, no, nobody but your partner can tell you why.

If he's on the 085 network he's just checking a mailbox, work stuff?? I dunno. I know nothing about your relationship but ringing numbers from his mobile bill is a bit like reading someone's text messages...no?? You probably have your reasons though. Worst case scenario it's a second personal phone you don't know about.

Has mentioned he's checking the voice mail on that particular phone.

Maybe it's a work phone? It's a bit odd alright.

Drop the 5 and ring it you're self and see who is on the other end.

    Second 5, actually.

Doesn't really matter if you drop the first or second 5 as it's an 085 number but normally it's the 5 after the prefix.

If it is a personal number that he's not telling you about its a little silly as he knows you will see it on the bill? Also if there is nothing to hide, why is lying to you when he's clearly calling this number?

If it's call duration is 3-4 seconds surely that's only long enough to hear "you have no new messages" if even ?

Why were you going through your partner's phone bill?

no hes not, it lets you leave a voicemail without actually having to talk to the person if they answer

    That's what I was thinking too ...

Given the calls only last 3-4 seconds, it sounds like he's ringing just to hear the person's voicemail. Which is a little bit freaky.

Obvious thing to do is to ring the same number, including the extra 5, to see whose it is.

Is your partner the first owner of the phone? If it's second-hand it might have some old voicemail number still saved on it that it calls automatically.

8-10 times per day? Unlikely! Op he's either listening to a message or leàvubg a message on another voicemail.

Or his phone is diverted there instead of his own voice mail

It may simply be a call forward feature.

So when you call his own number op what happens? Does it go to a voicemail.

If its a different voicemail why does he not know that?

When i call my voicemail (the 171 number) sometimes it shows up in my call log as 171 but other times its a long phone number. The first time i saw it in my call log i was so confused and when i rang it it went to voicemail. Otherwise i wouldn't have a clue what the number was.

    Have you asked him?

OP you've posted this on the eir forum without making it clear its not your phone/bill. Why are you so paranoid about your OH's phone bill? You say there are other issues with the relationship but do you think this is the best way to fix things? Sneaking behind is back to find out what the number is?
