Hi all my oh has a 2007 toyota auris she came home this evening and told me her a message came up on the dash saying check battery also the battery and a coolant / water lights were also on the dash .there's only 63 k on the clock .I ran the engine and checked the battery voltage it was dropped from 12.43 volts before I started to 12.3 and when I switched on the headlights and it dropped to 12.1 volts I had a quick look at the belt it looks ok .I'm probably answering my own question but it sounds like the alternator is bucked I checked micks garage and nearly dropped nearly €700 for a new one .I just want to be sure before I go forking out money . €700 no thanks mick

Get a reconditioned alternator for around 200 euros all in.
    I'm on my second reconditioned alternator,I've a 07 d4d corolla.

    340,000 k on the clock.

Those guy's who work in those car auto electric shops will help you.

Usually they just change the bushings in the alternator, 700 euros for a few bushings is very steep 😨

I would get the opinion of a mechanic first before buying anything. Could be a slipping belt.

Will do It was dark when I checking a belt is more likely and far easier on the pocket.
