Hi everyone I'm a new or and hoping someone can help or guide me. I'm currently in a Private sector job (nurse) which is great and on my door step but Iv been given the opportunity to take up a public sector Hse position. The salary is the same although I will have approx an 80 mile round trip 3-4 days per week. I figure that's 50-70 on fuel per week not to mention the time travelling. However that isn't my quandary. My thing is the pension- that would be the only reason really for taking the job but I know very little about it. Would anyone know on a 40000 salary per year how much do you pay per month? Do the HSE contribute to it and on average how much do u get after you retire on top of the state old age pension? Am I better of just setting up my own private pension ?? Thank you so much in advance
